A WALK-IN bus will be travelling around Barnsley this week checking your eyesight.

As part of Eye Health Week, which runs until Friday, Barnsley Council’s Public Health team will be joining the Royal Society for the Blind and residents are being encouraged to go and find more information about how to prevent sight loss and have a basic vision screening test.

According to Public Health England, Barnsley has the worst rate for preventable sight loss in the country. An eye test can pick up the first signs of an eye condition before noticing any vision changes.

The bus will be at Tesco, Wombwell Lane, Barnsley tomorrow from 10am to 3pm.

They will be at Barnsley Central Library from 10am to 3pm on Wednesday, Worsbrough Library from 10am to 3pm on Thursday and Mapplewell and Staincross Library from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on Friday.
