FIREFIGHTERS were called to tackle several fires last Wednesday which are all thought to have been started deliberately.
Between 4pm and 6pm, firefighters were called to tackle blazes at several woodland and grass verge sights after reports were received stating the areas were ablaze.
Firefighters tackled blazes at Darton Lane, Kingsmark Way, Goldthorpe, Priory Road, Lundwood and three times to the Wombwell Woods off Woodhead Lane.
Most fires were extinguished within an hour however the blaze on Darton Lane took just under three hours to extinguish.
