AN ONLINE petition has gained more than 1,300 signatures after the council announced plans to potentially build a gyratory on Penny Pie Park.

The proposal was drawn up as a way to try and relieve congestion on the A628 Dodworth Road and Pogmoor heading towards the M1.

The plans involve building a new gyratory on Penny Pie Park and campaigners strongly object to the proposed plans.

The petition was launched by Lyndsey Darren, who said on the page: "It’s a much loved and used green space by a variety of people from young children, teenagers, dog walkers, disabled, the elderly, people reading papers and everything in between.

"There has to be a better alternative which would work for both the community and the council."
