A MAN has been taken to hospital with a serious head injury following a collision in Wath.

At around 8.40am today, officers received reports of a collision between a blue Kia Venga and a pushbike on Quarry Hill Road at the junction with Sandygate Road.

The cyclist, a 22-year-old man from the Rotherham area, was taken to hospital. He remains in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the Kia was not believed to have been injured.

The road is currently closed while investigations are carried out.
