A RESTUARANT will be serving alternative dishes created completely from local produce.

Steve Fitzgerald, 47, of Wheatcroft Gardens, Penistone has been a chef for over 30 years and prides himself in creating alternative dishes for all to enjoy.

He will be serving up a treat at Bell's Steakhouse in Silkstone this weekend, with dishes such as tripe, grilled ox tongue and Barnsley black pudding.

He said: "I am sad that the "Tripe stall" in the meat market will soon be closing, having used it for many years

"I am keen to promote the joys of offal and want to promote local produce and keep old traditions alive"
