WHEN a marriage comes to an end it can be a distressing time for all parties involved.

Another stressful element is filing the divorce. In England and Wales, a couple have to prove in court that their marriage has irretrievably broken down.

They have to prove their marriage has broken down due to adultery, unreasonable behaviour or desertion and the other party must agree, or the only way to obtain a divorce without a spouse's consent is to live apart for five years.

A new law has been put forward to parliament to introduce a "no-fault divorce", with clear guidelines in place for financial settlements following divorce.

Do you agree the law should change?
