CUSTOMERS who find it difficult to shop with loud noises and music will be able to complete their weekly shop during quiet hour.

Morrisons have launched Quieter Hour every Saturday in the Lower Thomas Street store from 9am to 10am.

The Quieter Hour initiative has been created with the support of the National Autistic Society. Many people who are autistic or those with autistic children can find shopping in a supermarket an anxious experience.

During that time the lights will be dimmed, the music and radio will be off, tannoy announcements will be avoided, checkout beeps and other electrical noises will be turned down and there will be a reduced movement of trolleys and baskets.
