A MAN has been arrested after a fire was deliberately started on grassland.
At around 3pm yesterday, emergency services were called to fields just off Burton Road, Monk Bretton, responding to a call stating a number of fires had been started on the land.
The fire spread to nearby properties and caused damage to a number of vehicles.
No one was injured in the incident.
A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of arson and criminal damage in connection to the incident and currently remains in police custody.
