AN investigation is underway after an ATM was removed from the wall of a post office in Thurnscoe in the early hours of this morning.

At around 2.50am, reports were received that three men were using a JCB, a transit van and a hatchback Mercedes to try and remove a cash machine from the Post Office on Houghton Road.

The offenders left the area with the cash machine and its contents, travelling in the transit van and the Mercedes.

The JCB remains at the scene and an investigation is now underway to establish the exact circumstances and identify those involved.
