FOLLOWING the successful launch of the Neighbourhood Watch scheme (NHW) on June 15, the NHW schemes will be hosting local follow up events over the coming weeks.

On Saturday June 30 from 10am to 12.30pm at Tesco in Penistone, Sunday July 1 from 12.30 to 3.30pm at Locke Park near the café area and on Friday July 13 from 10.30 to 3pm at Cudworth Fire Station, residents can find out more about the scheme and see how they can help officers tackle issues affecting local communities.

PC Ross Greenwood, who ran the event at the Town Hall said: "Keeping this programme alive in Barnsley is really important to both us and to local residents and so I’m pleased with how the latest event was received, it’s helping to create better communities across the borough.

If you want to find out how you can help us tackle crime, and the issues that matter most to you, I’d urge you to come along to one of these events to see exactly how important Neighbourhood Watch schemes are and what exactly they entail."
