CANNON Hall Farm has made the shortlist to win an award that celebrates the best visitor attractions in Yorkshire.

The family-run tourist attraction has been shortlisted for the Large Visitor Attraction award in the White Rose competition run by Welcome to Yorkshire.

The Awards recognise the very best of this county’s thriving tourism industry including pubs and restaurants, food and drink, hotels and caravan sites, visitor attractions, cultural events and customer service.

Richard Nicholson, farm director, said: “We’ve been shortlisted for this award a number of times since we first opened to the public in 1989 but winning it has always escaped us.

"It’s a tough one to win as there’s so much great competition out there, but we are really hopeful that this year is the year we bring the prize home to Barnsley.”
