BARNSLEY Youth Choir are holding a silent auction to raise money towards taking up to 140 young people to perform in the world famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Barnsley Youth Choir was established in February 2009 to serve the children and young people of Barnsley. The choir currently has over 250 members aged between seven and 23-years-old.

Up for grabs in the silent auction is a full day of professional Cake Decorating tuition for up to 4 people, led by Joanne McDonald, who created all the cakes for the ITV drama series 'Victoria'.

The classes will be based at the Pot House Hamlet, Silkstone at Joanna Rose Cakes.

Barnsley Youth Choir are also holding a gala dinner on Saturday June 9, at the Holiday Inn in Dodworth, and all proceeds will be going to support the choir take the members to the Edinburgh Fringe.

Edinburgh Fringe is the worlds largest arts festival, and is the single biggest celebration of arts and culture.

The highest bid will be revealed at the Gala Dinner and the winners notified.
