BARNSLEY FC Ladies are through to the Sheffield and Hallamshire County FA Women’s Cup Final at Doncaster Rovers’ Keepmoat Stadium.
The Reds will go up against Huddersfield Town tomorrow evening for the third consecutive year having lifted the trophy in 2016 and narrowly missing out in 2017.
Barnsley captain Lucy Taylor said: “We’re going in as underdogs, being leagues below Huddersfield but I always back an underdog. I think we’ve got more fight and more fire to go in wanting to win that game.”
Ian Clark’s side are currently bottom of the Northern Division One following their promotion last season. However, despite a transitional campaign at a higher standard, Lucy is confident that the side is moving in the right direction.
She said: “We have struggled, I’m not going to lie; we’ve found it really difficult this year with a few players leaving and a mixed bag of new and old players and finding our feet in the league has been really hard, but performances in the league have been really strong.
You can get behind the girls at the Keepmoat Stadium on tomorrow night, kick-off is at 7pm.
