THE Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) Barnsley is one of 162 branches to close down by November 2018.
The announcement comes after an intial plan to create a 'challenger bank' under the name Williams & Glyn is no longer going to be lunched and more people are using the mobile banking service.
792 jobs across England and Wales would go as a result of the closures and staff would be offered voluntary redundancy.
