FROM August Barnsley residents will no longer have to separate cardboard and paper as the white paper recycling sack is being phased out.
A new sorting facility currently being built which will mean paper and cardboard can be recycled together.
The decision was taken following feedback from residents and changes to recycling habits.
Matt Gladstone, Executive Director for Place, said:“We know that the paper sacks were quite unpopular and it’s time to move on from them; we hope that this decision will be welcomed."
