DAN Jarvis will be able to remain MP for Barnsley even if he is elected Mayor of Sheffield.

Labour's National Executive Committee had ruled last week that he could not serve in two elected roles no-one could serve in two elected roles.

However a agreement was reached and it was agreed that the Barnsley Central MP would be able to remain in parliament.

Mr Jarvis said: "I am honoured to be Labour's candidate for the Sheffield City Region mayoral election and I am looking forward to the campaign."
