A NEW bus pass has launched that gives passengers unlimited evening and night time travel around Barnsley for just £2.50.
Stagecoach Yorkshire launched the new Barnsley Eveningrider Plus on Sunday (March 4).
The ticket is valid after 6pm on the day of purchase and can also be used on journeys from Barnsley to Chapeltown, Goldthorpe and Manvers. It expires at midnight on the day it is bought.
Coun Roy Miller, Cabinet Spokesperson for Place, said: “The launch of Stagecoach’s new evening bus ticket is fantastic news for Barnsley residents - offering smarter, more affordable travel choices. It’ll encourage our residents to leave their cars at home in the evening and opt for the less stressful, more sustainable and often quicker means of travel.
“It’s also great news for our younger residents and those without access to a vehicle - promoting safer travel, making it easier to get around the borough in the evening and reducing reliance on paying for taxis.”
