A MAN has been arrested after police carried out a warrant at a campsite and came across an underground tunnel, a cannabis farm, £31,000 in cash and what police believe to be a gun.

Police executed a search warrant at the campsite in Moor Lane, Brierley, this morning (Thursday, March 1).

At the location, officers discovered an underground tunnel and what appears to be a cannabis cultivation site. A quantity of dried cannabis was recovered by police.

Around £31,000 cash and a suspected firearm were also seized.

A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and is currently in custody.
