A CAMPAIGN to build a memorial sculpture to Kes author Barry Hines has been started by one of his former pupils.
Ronnie Steele was taught by Barry at Longcar School, and along with local author Millie Johnson, has set up a fundraising page to help fund a statue in his honour in the town centre.
The sculpture - to feature Billy Casper and Kes - is set to be created by Graham Ibbeson.
