A MAN was robbed in his home after being hit with a lump hammer in what police believe was a targeted attack.
Officers are investigating following the incident at a house in Cudworth last weekend.
Police were called to the property in Kings Road just after 4.15am on Sunday (January 7), following a report that a 52-year-old man had been assaulted.
The two robbers had knocked on the door of the house, before going into the property and injuring the man with a lump hammer.
One of the men then stole two chains from around the victim's neck.
A police spokesperson added: "They left the area on foot, turning right on to Kings Road heading towards Pontefract Road.
"Enquiries remain ongoing to identify those involved and police believe this was a targeted incident."
