A MAN has died after a house fire near the town centre.
Crews from Barnsley, Cudworth, Tankersley and Penistone were called to the blaze at the house on Clarendon Street at around 9.30pm last night (Monday January 1).
Fire crews confirmed this morning that a man inside, believed to be in his 60’s, died following the fire.
An investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire and death will now take place.
