OFFICERS are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a collision, in which a 49-year-old man died.
At around 11.50am on October 8, a cyclist was travelling downhill along Carr Lane, away from the A629 towards Broad Oak Lane, when the rider of the bike appears to have mounted a grass verge before losing control and falling in to the road.
The cyclist was subsequently involved in a collision with a black Landrover Freelander, travelling in the opposite direction.
The collision happened close to the entrance of Carr Lane Farm.
The cyclist, a 49-year-old man from Barnsley, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
