POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run in Mapplewell left two men in hospital - including one with serious injuries.
The incident happened around 10.10am on Saturday (September 16) when two men, both aged 41, were walking along Kingsway when a white Ford Transit van travelling towards Sackup lane collided with them.
The driver of the van did not stop at the scene and the vehicle was later found by officers abandoned less than half a mile away on Darton Lane.
The victims were both taken to hospital with suspected serious injuries. One man has been discharged from hospital while the other man remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
A police spokeswoman added: "Enquiries are now ongoing to trace the driver and a passenger in the van. Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 333 of September 16 2017."
