CYCLING fans are in for a treat on Friday when the Barnsley Town Centre Races ride into town.

The action will begin at 5.30pm, starting with the under 12s. The regional ‘category A’ riders will commence their race at 6.40pm as riders challenge each other for regional ranking points. Then at 7.40pm the elite races will begin.

Each elite race will last for 50 minutes, and the winner will be whoever completes the most laps of the 1km course within that time.

Locals and families with children over eight years old are also invited to take part in the free community ride which will mark the start of the races at 4.30pm.
