BARNSLEY Museums has received £1.8m worth of funding from Arts Council England.
The group - which operates Cannon Hall, Experience Barnsley, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Worsbrough Mill and The Cooper Gallery - says the funding will allow it to deliver more cultural activities as well as work more closely with local communities, inspiring people to engage with the museums and their collections.
Barnsley Museums says it will use the money to provide a range of activities, programmes and exhibitions, share more collections, work more closely with local communities as well as use buildings, landscapes and spaces to tell the stories of Barnsley’s history.
