A SPECIAL service will be held outside of the Town Hall on Saturday to mark Armed Forces Day.
The service will take place at 10.30am in Barnsley Pals Centenary Gardens - where the Mayor, Coun Jeff Ennis - will lead a short service taken by his Chaplain, Father Ian McCormack.
The Town Hall joined other buildings and famous landmarks around the country this week when an Armed Forces Day flag was raised on the Town Hall, as part of a special ceremony to mark the start of Armed Forces Day celebrations across Barnsley.
The Mayor of Barnsley, Councillor Jeff Ennis, said: “I’m honoured to lead Barnsley’s Armed Forces Day service. Everyone’s welcome to attend and it would be great to see a large congregation as we unite to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community.”
