POLICE have issued a warning to van and car owners after a spate of vehicle break-ins over the last month.
Police say that through mid-April and into May, a number of vans have been broken into and had items taken from them.
Cars have also been targeted with registration plates being stolen and items on display in vehicles also being stolen.
Inspector Richard Burgess, said: “We have seen an increase in the number of vehicles being broken into and having items stolen. In particular, it would appear that people have been targeting work vans to take power tools. I’d advise people with work vans to remove tools overnight.
“Work is ongoing to identify offenders and I’d encourage anyone who has information about any recent theft from a vehicle to contact us via 101.”
