POLICE have confirmed that a 40-year-old man has been arrested after an elderly woman was found dead at a house in Kexborough.
Police were called around 5.35pm yesterday evening to a house on Brookhill Road. On arrival, the woman was found dead in the property.
A 40-year-old man was also present at the address.
He was arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with enquiries.
Officers remain at the scene today as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death continue.
Formal identification and a post-mortem examination is due to take place later today.
