POLICE are appealing for witnesses ater a knife-wielding robber stole a drill from a Barnsley supermarket.

The incident happened around 10.20pm on Wednesday (April 26), when the man entered the Lidl Store on Mitchells Way in Wombwell.

He made threats towards staff before making off with a drill stolen from the supermarket.

The man has been described as white, aged between 30 and 35-years-old, around 5ft 7incs tall, of a slim build with short dark brown hair swept to one side and to have been wearing a dark blue coat with silver trim piping running down the sleeves and dark jogging bottoms.

It is believed the man injured himself during the incident but no one else was hurt.
