BARNSLEY families on a low income have been reminded that they may qualify for free fruit and veg vouchers.

The Rose Vouchers scheme launched in December last year to help young families make and afford healthy choices while supporting the local markets, where the vouchers can be spent.

It's open to Barnsley families on a low income with children under four years old - or women who are expecting a baby - who live in the central area council area.

Those who qualify receive £3 of fruit and veg vouchers per week.

More information is available at drop-in sessions every Wednesday morning, 9.30am to 11.30am at the Better Barnsley Shop on Cheapside (next to Alhambra).

Information is also available by contacting 01226 294604.
