POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 20-year-old woman was hospitalised with serious injuries after being run over in Athersley.
The woman was hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa outside the Betfred Bookmaker’s shop in Laithes Lane, at 9.10pm last night (January 26).
A 20-year-old man who was driving the Corsa towards New Lodge was not injured.
