A RAFT of changes to Barnsley’s bus services come in this weekend - and we’ve got you covered.

The changes follow a consultation with communities and councillors last June and July that saw over 1,000 people give their views.

As part of of the changes, new ‘BConnect’ day (£4.50), seven day (£16) and 28 day (£60) tickets have been made available from TravelMaster that can be used on any bus in Barnsley.

Existing single operator day and week ticket options will continue unchanged.

The full changes to timetables are:

1 Barnsley - Smithies - New Lodge - Mapplewell - Staincross: Changes have been made to the timetable. The Saturday daytime frequency has been reduced to every 12 minutes and evening service has been reduced to hourly journeys on Monday to Saturday from 21.00 and on Sundays from 17.00.

6 Barnsley - Kendray - Worsbrough Dale: Minor changes have been made to the times of evening journeys. 8 8a Barnsley - Worsborough Common - Ward Green - Worsborough Bridge - Worsborough Dale: These services have been withdrawn. Alternative journeys are available via service 67.

11 12 Barnsley - Honeywell - Smithies - New Lodge - Athersley: Service 11 - Changes have been made to the times. The Saturday daytime frequency has been reduced to every 12 minute and evening journeys reduced to hourly.

32 Barnsley - Hoyle Mill - Cundy Cross - Lundwood - Cudworth: Changes have been made to the timetable. The Monday to Saturday evening journeys now operate as service 28c. Most Sunday journeys have been withdrawn.

34 34a Barnsley - Monk Bretton - Athersley - Carlton - Shafton - Cudworth - Lundwood - Cundy Cross: This service has been withdrawn. Alternative journeys are available via service 36 operated by Waterson’s.

35 35a Barnsley - Hoyle Mill - Monk Bretton - Lundwood - Cudworth - Shafton - Brierley - Hemsworth - South Kirkby - South Elmsall: This service has been withdrawn. Alternative journeys are available via services 36, 37 and 38.

36 Barnsley - Monk Bretton - Cudworth - Shafton - Brierley - Hemsworth - South Kirkby - South Elmsall: This service has been completely revised and has replaced services 31, 34, 34a, 35 and 29 in South Heindley. Services 36a and 36b operate schooldays only and are not included in this guide.

57 59 Barnsley - Monk Bretton - Carlton - Royston - Notton - Newmillerdam - Sandal - Wakefield: Service 57 - A new early morning journey at 05.26 from Royston to Barnsley has been introduced. Service 59 - Minor timetable changes have come in.

66 N66 Barnsley - Birdwell - Hoyland Common - Hoyland - Jump - Elsecar: Service 66 - Saturday journeys have been reduced to every 12 minutes. Service N66 - the timetables have been revised.

96 97 Barnsley - Gawber - Darton - Staincross - Kexborough - West Bretton - Woolley - Sandal - Wakefield: Changes have been made to the route and times with service 96 operating via Longley Street in Higham.

193 Barnsley - Athersley - Royston - Ryhill - Crofton - Walton - Sandal - Wakefield: Revised timetable with journeys operating via Rotherham Road at Monk Bretton

216 Goldthorpe - Thurnscoe - Middlecliffe - Grimethorpe: This service now operates only between Goldthorpe and Grimethorpe.

226 Barnsley - Stairfoot - Wombwell - Wath upon Dearne - Bolton on Dearne - Goldthorpe - Thurnscoe: Changes have been made to the times of journeys on Sunday to improve punctuality.

300 Penistone - Millhouse Green - Thurlstone: This service has been withdrawn following operation on Saturday 28 January 2017. Alternative journeys are available via new service 23 ‘Yorkshire Tiger’.

265 Sheffield - Firvale - Sheffield Lane Top - Ecclesfield - Chapeltown - Hoyland Common - Birdwell - Worsbrough - Barnsley: Minor timetable changes have been made to improve punctuality.

X19 Barnsley - Stairfoot - Ardsley - Darfield - Goldthorpe - Hickleton - marr - Scawsby - Doncaster: Minor timetable changes have been made to aid reliability.

X20 Barnsley - Wombwell - Old Moor - Manvers - Mexborough - Denaby Main - Conisbrough - Warmsworth - Balby - Doncaster: Minor timetable changes have been made to improve punctuality. Also an additional stop is now included in the limited stopping arrangements in Mexborough on Wath Road at Highwoods Road.
