ROADWORKS have begun on one of Barnsley's busiest roads - and more are on the way.
Works began today on a programme to resurface Barnsley’s principal road network.
Work has started on the A61 Sheffield Road, Worsbrough, extending from Worsbrough Road towards Birdwell and on the A635 Doncaster Road, from Sunderland Terrace to Tuscany Gardens.
Additional work will also take place on the following roads in the coming weeks:
A635 Barugh Green Road / Cawthorne Road /Higham Common Road junction area.
A6133 Cemetery Road, Barnsley – Doncaster Road to Clifton Street.
A628 Barnsley Road, Brierley – Haldane Close to Hilltop.
While work progresses, some of the sites will have temporary road closures, diversions and speed reductions.
The council says more information will be released as the work progresses.
