BARNSLEY College welcomed back two of its famous former students at its grand opening.
Shaun Dooley, Barnsley-born actor, and radio DJ Simon Hirst led celebrations to mark the opening of the Old Mill Lane site and Urban Park.
Shaun studied Drama and Performing Arts at the college and Simon "Hirsty" Hirst studied for a BTEC Media qualification.
Cricket legend Dickie Bird OBE joined the celebrations and Shaun led a balloon launch sponsored by Miller Construction who carried out the work.
Activities and performances took place throughout the day with stalls showcasing students work. Apprentice finalist and businesswoman Claire Young also held business advice sessions with students.
The landmark campus has been completed after nine years of planning and construction. Colin Booth, principal of the college, said: "It is more than just a college. It's a community resource and a real working environment for our students."
