TWO people suffered serious injuries after a car hit a group of people on Wellington Street last weekend.
Police said they were called at about 3.45am on Saturday, November 5 following reports a car had hit people and failed to stop near Digital Bar.
A police spokesperson said: “It is alleged the car was involved in a collision with a number of people.
“Two people suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital to receive treatment.
"Three other people also sustained minor injuries in the incident.”
Jordan Craig Fay, 23, of Honeywell Street, Barnsley, was charged with attempted Section 18 wounding in connection with the incident and appeared at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The case has been sent to Sheffield Crown Court to be heard on December 5.
