POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered serious injuries in a car crash yesterday.

The collision happened on the Stocksbridge bypass iat around 5.30am yesterday morning (Wednesday, October 19).

A blue HGV was travelling on the bypass from Sheffield towards Flouch at the same time a white Citroen Relay van was travelling away from Flouch and towards Sheffield.

The two vehicles were in collision close to Uskers Barn and the bypass was closed in both directions until around midday.

The 37-year-old man driving the van was taken to hospital where his injuries are described as serious.

The 34-year-old man driving the HGV suffered minor injuries.
