POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 10-year-old Barnsley girl was approached by two unknown men, before one of them reportedly grabbed her.

Police say that around 3.35pm on Sunday September 18, the girl was walking along Pontefract Road when she was approached by the men.

Near to the junction with Beever Court, one of the men is reported to have taken hold of the girl’s arm before she pulled away and ran in the direction of the Trans Pennine Trail to join her friends.

The girl was not injured but was left distressed by the incident.

One of the men is described as being of chubby build and was reportedly wearing black tracksuit top and bottoms with a black beanie hat.
