A 'Memory Café' will take place for people with dementia on August bank holiday weekend.
Barnsley Rockley Rotary Club has sponsored the event, for people suffering with dementia and their families and carers.
At the event, visitors will be served tea, coffee, sandwiches and scones, and will be able to share information, socialise with friends and have the opportunity to make new ones.
There will be entertainment from singer Susan St Nicholas and archive films of Barnsley will also be screened. Whilst there guests can also take a look around Experience Barnsley.
The event will take place at the Berneslai Café, in Barnsley Town Hall on Sunday, August 28, from 11am until 2pm.
There are thirty free places available for the event and those who would like to attend can contact Kathy Markwick, member of Barnsley Rockley Rotary Club, on 0114 2830827 or 0772 9528844.
