A GROUP of Barnsley fans have travelled to North London to restore the grave of the man who founded the club.
Reverend Tiverton Preedy founded the club in September 1887, at the time called Barnsley St Peter's F.C, and played in its first match.
He also secured the site that Oakwell sits on.
Reverend Preedy died in his sleep in April 1928. He was buried at Islington Cemetery in Finchley, where the fans have travelled to.
The club said on social media: "It was through his passion, enthusiasm and commitment that the club came into existence and has gone on to become what it is today."
