A FREE dog chipping event will be held in Barnsley next week following a change in law.
Owners of dogs aged over eight weeks now have to make sure their pet is microchipped, or face fines of up to £500.
Previous events in Barnsley have proved popular, with hundreds of dogs chipped.
Therefore, Barnsley Council has teamed up with Dogs Trust to offer another free microchipping session at Wombwell Police Station, Park Street, on Wednesday, July 13 from 11am while 3pm.
