FORMER MINERS and their families are being urged to take part in a town centre march this Sunday that will be filmed for a BBC show.

The march will set off from the Town Hall around 10am on Sunday (June 26).

Miners are being asked to bring their pit banners for the march, that will be filmed for a new show 'Yorkshire Pride'.

The show will explore the mining history of areas like Barnsley, as well as other Yorkshire heritage.

A brass band will also be in attendance.
