DOG owners are being warned about the spread of a deadly disease that can cause potentially fatal kidney failure.
Alabama Rot, which first appeared in the late 1980s in America, is spreading across England.
It is not known how the disease is caused or how it can be prevented, but it is thought to be picked up on paws and legs on muddy walks.
The first symptom that is normally seen is a skin sore that isn’t caused by injury. Animals also become unusually tired.
Vets say washing off mud after walks can help prevent the illness.
However, if it is left untreated, the condition can cause sudden and potentially fatal kidney failure.
