BEN MANSFORD has left Barnsley after being appointed Chief Executive of Leeds United.

The now former Barnsley Chief Executive leaves Oakwell after just two years with the club.

Barnsley have appointed former pro footballer Linton Brown as his temporary successor.

Barnsley said in a statement this morning: "Barnsley Football Club can today announce that Chief Executive Ben Mansford has left the Club to join Leeds United.

"The Board have appointed Linton Brown as acting Chief Executive and he will join the Board with immediate effect.

"A former professional footballer himself, Linton has built an impressive career off the field and boasts extensive experience within the football industry.

"Significant progress has been made commercially since joining the Club in 2014 with Linton being instrumental and very much the driving force behind the Club's recent success."
