A VIGIL will be held outside Barnsley Town Hall tomorrow in memory of the 50 people killed in the Orlando shootings.

Gunman Omar Mateen opened fire in the early hours of Sunday morning (June 12) at the Pulse nightclub, killing 49 before turning the gun on himself. The attack also left 53 people injured.

It is the deadliest mass shooting in recent US history.

Locals are being urged to join the vigil tomorrow (Tuesday, June 14), organised by the Barnsley LGBT forum, and bring a candle to light in memory of those killed.

It will take place at 5.45pm.
