LOCALS say they've seen a reduction of anti-social behaviour in the town centre following the introduction of a dedicated police team.

Following a spate of incidents in town - particularly aroud Peel Square - a dedicated police team was introduced to help manage the area last month.

Police say feedback from the public has been positive.

A spokesperson said: "The town centre team are continuing to patrol the town centre on a daily basis. Feedback from those who live, work and visit the town, is that it is a much nicer places with a noticeable reduction in anti-social behavior."
