MOTORISTS are being warned of possible disruption around Wakefield Road next month due to five weeks of essential gas maintenance.
The north of England’s gas distributer, Northern Gas Networks (NGN), is investing £70,000 to upgrade the ageing gas distribution network.
The project, which will start on Monday, July 11 and last approximately five weeks, has been planned in conjunction with Barnsley Council.
The first phase of the project won't require roadworks, but from the start of August, temporary traffic lights will be in place around the area.
A public meeting will be held next Tuesday (June 14) between 4pm and 6pm at the Eastfield Arms pub on Wakefield Road, where the public can find out more about the works, meet the team and ask any questions that they may have.
