POLICE have issued an appeal for information after a knife-wielding thief robbed a local shop on Tuesday night.
The man walked into the Costcutter store in Fish Dam Lane, Monk Bretton, and threatened staff with the blade, before demanding money from the till.
After stealing the cash, he left the shop heading towards Carlton back down Fish Dam Lane around 9.20pm.
He is described as white, and is believed to have been wearing a dark coloured hooded top with pale grey jogging bottoms and black trainers.
No one was injured in the incident, although members of staff in the shop were left shaken.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and who saw anything suspicious to call 101 quoting incident number 1045 of 31 May 2016.
