MOTORISTS are being warned to expect disruption on busy roads around Birdwell - with work to improve traffic flow starting this week.
Funding to significantly improve the local road network next to Junction 36 of the M1 has been secured.
The improvements will see a major realignment of the road, including the construction of two new roundabouts and traffic signals.
There will also be a direct link from the motorway onto the local road network, which will aim to reduce traffic congestion at the A61 Birdwell roundabout, improve bus services and cut down journey times.
