MOBILE users can opt out of nuisance calls from today, by simply sending a text message.
The free 'text-to-register' service allows people to add their number to the 'do not call' database of the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) - who have joined forces with Ofcom to launch the service.
Mobile users can sign up to the service by texting TPS, followed by their email address, to 78070.
The TPS should then reply via text, confirming the person's details have been added to its database.
The service can take up to 28 days to become effective - but people should notice a reduction in unwanted sales and marketing calls within a few days.
