THE new Market Gate car park will open next week.
Part of the Better Barnsley scheme, the car park has space for up to 170 vehicles, along with four spaces with locking facilities for motorcycles, as well as secure bicycle storage lockers.
It also includes eight dedicated disabled parking bays.
Market Gate will be the first car park in Barnsley to feature pay by phone parking, while an electric vehicle charge point is also provided, which is free to use once you have paid to park.
The car park will be oficially opened at 1pm on Thursday 19 May by the Mayor, Coun Brian Mathers.
